I received an invite from a MoveOn member/ sponsor about a rally and march against Bank of America happening this Friday September 30 at 2PM in Boston. The rally will be held at the Boston Common gazebo with the march to Bank of America beginning at 3PM.
The invite states that:
"We will gather on Boston Common for music and speeches, then march to Bank of America with 50 families who are being foreclosed on. We will support these families while demanding that Bank of America play fair, stop evictions, reduce principal and pay their fair share in taxes."
The prime sponsor of this event is the coalition organization MassUniting. Coalition partners include:
The Chinese Progressive Association The Chelsea Collaborative Neighbors United for a Better East Boston/NUBE City Life/Vida Urbana Mass Senior Action New England United for Justice The Boston Worker’s Alliance Massachusetts Communities Action Network (MCAN) Project Right Massachusetts Jobs with Justice.
The Occupy Wall Street protest, now in its 13th day, is inspiring and exciting. These kids are certainly on to something. Their occupation is now spreading to other cities. The more traditionally organized groups arranging this Boston event essentially share the same message as the young people. Every instance of boots on the ground makes a difference. Things are shifting, the zeitgeist is changing. Just wanted to get this out there for those in the area. Be there or be square.
